Monitoring of Volatile Organic Compounds at The Petrojam Refinery
Monitoring of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) was carried out at Petrojam Limited refinery by TEM Network over three months from commencement, spanning the period November 5, 2012 to January 22, 2013.
Eighteen parameters were determined for the entire period. The parameters included: benzene, toluene, xylenes, 1, 3-diethylbenzene, 2, 2, 4-trimethylpentane, heptane, 2-methylheptane, octane, decane, a-pinene, d-limonene, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene and ethanol vapour. For the monitoring, TEM employed 3M passive monitors which were analysed using Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS).
