EIA of the Norman Manley International Airport Rehabilitation
Project
TEMN carried out the full EIA of the captioned project. This was for
the Airports Authority of Jamaica (AAJ), and funded by the Inter
American Development Bank. The Project envisioned major repaving
work on the runways and taxiways as well as the replacement of the
aircraft aprons and the replacement of the storm drainage systems.
After the EIA was submitted, a monitoring programme for the Impact
Mitigation Plan was also prepared. We subsequently carried out a
training programme for the AAJ personnel to ensure that they would
be able to implement the required monitoring.
EIA on the proposed East Kingston Coast Road.
The UDC proposed to extend the East Kingston Coast Road with a
four lane highway from Rockfort Diesel power station westerly
through the Texaco lands. The road then went through Bournemouth
Gardens to link with the existing highway at Paradise Street near
Breezy Castle. The project included the land acquisition to satisfy
the proposed alignment profile as well as lands for easement and to
facilitate access to secondary roads.
EIA of the Upgrading of the Petrojam Oil Refinery
(with Claude Davis and Associates)
TEMN carried out the EIA for the upgrading of the Petrojam oil
refinery to produce only unleaded gasoline, reviewing the impact of
new equipment and processes to be installed in facilitating the
changeover. The assessment examined present and projected impact
of the Petrojam operations and carried out modelling of all
stack emissions within the zone of influence of the plant including
the stack of CCCL.
EIA of the proposed development of port facilities at Fort Augusta,
Kingston Harbour
The Port Authority of Jamaica proposes to develop berthing and
container storage facilities at Fort Augusta. This project involves
the dredging of the channel and the reclamation of land to provide for
the space required for the project. TEMN prepared an EIA of the
proposed project as well as subsequent modifications.
