EIA of the Development of the Kingston Trans-shipment Port by dredging and land reclamation as part of Port Development project KCT3
This project involved the preparation of a major Environmental Impact Assessment of activities
designed to improve the ability of the Kingston Trans-shipment Port to handle the larger container
vessels currently coming into service. The main ship channel was deepened and widened, and land was
reclaimed for use as container storage and other land based port development. The Group also monitored
the dredging and development activities that included a major coral transplantation exercise carried
out at Rackham's Cay, which was the largest successful coral transplantation exercise carried out up to that time.
EIA of AMATERRA resort development, Duncans Bay Trelawny
Amaterra Jamaica Limited proposes to develop 850 acres (344.25 hectares) of beachfront land in the
Duncans Bay area of Trelawny as a resort community, possibly called Ocean Pointe. The property is located
between the Duncans to Rio Bueno main road in the vicinity of the Silver Sands property.
Plans call for the development of villas, condominiums, and hotels, and at full development would
total approximately 2,000 hotel rooms (Four hotels planned), and 2,200 villa lots. The property
is proposed to be developed on a phased basis. TEMN carried out a full Environmental Impact Assessment of the development
EIA of a Housing Development at Fairy Hill, Portland on behalf of the Urban Development Corporation
This project involved the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed Phase 1
of the Fairy Hill Property. The UDC's Development Proposal for its Fairy Hill Property comprised the
subdivision of approximately 207 sites and service lots and the upgrading of the public beach.
Fairy Hill is a 14.81 hectare property located some 11 km east of Port Antonio in the Parish of Portland.
EIA of FDR Pebbles Resort, Trelawny
Franklin D. Resort developed 1.62 hectares of land at New Court, Trelawny as a Family style resort.
The property is located approximately 0.8 km from the Trelawny Beach Hotel. This executive style family
camp consists of 12, two storey blocks, each containing 8 studios. A full Environmental Impact Assessment
was carried out by TEMN.
