Environmental monitoring of the development of port facilities
in Ocho Rios by the construction of a T- Pier for use by private interests.

For the Port Authority of Jamaica.

The Port Authority of Jamaica has constructed a T-Pier at Ocho Rios
to facilitate the use the port by private interests because of security concerns
about the main berthing area. This project involved the transplantation of corals
from the area of the footprint of the pier, the driving of piles and construction.
TEMN assisted in the Permit application process and monitored the works.
The Environmental Impact Assessment and monitoring of dredging operations
at Berths 8 and 9 in Kingston Harbour.

For the Port Authority of Jamaica

This exercise involved the Preparation of an Environmental Impact assessment
of dredging at Beths 8 and 9 in Kingston harbour, as well as monitoring of the
dredging exercise. TEMN selected a dump site outside of Kingston Harbour which
was approved by the then NRCA. Environmental report on the dredging exercise
was also prepared and submitted to the NRCA.
Environmental Monitoring of dredging operations in Hunts Bay, Kingston Harbour

The UDC is carrying out dredging in Hunts bay to avoid flooding in the Rio Cobre,
Duhaney River and Sandy Gully. TEMN is carrying out a full monitoring programme
to meet the requirements of Licence issued by NEPA.
Environmental monitoring of the development of port facilities by the extension
of berths 10 and11 in Kingston Harbour.

For the Port Authority of Jamaica.

The Port Authority of Jamaica is expanding and improving berthing and container storage
facilities at berths 10 and 11 in Kingston Harbour. This project involves the extension and
reconstruction of the present berthing and container handling facilities. TEMN assisted in
the Permit application process and is currently monitoring the works.
